Arezoo Ettehad was born in 1981. She was the first child in a family whose father was so fond of cinema which of course made her interested in cinema as she grew up. She even chose cinema as her major when it came to the academic education.
Camera, which was her favorite thing as a teenager, became more serious at the time she started studying in the university.
In 1999, She started taking documentary pictures in Tehran Bazar with an analogue camera. Meanwhile, She wrote and directed two short films in 2000 and later in 2003; the same year she finished university and received her B.A in Cinema.After the university, she decided to take her chance at teaching, so she began to teach some courses, directory and movie analysis in soureh art school. But teaching was not going to be her career.
Now she wanted to paint since she used to paint as a teenager. It was at the age of 13 that she started painting. Her first teacher was Masoud Katuzian.
Later, she continued her thirst in making pictures as a young educated woman. Aydin Aghdashlu was her second teacher. She was pursuing her career in commercial illustration at the time but never forgot to take pictures in the real world tough. Photography had become a part of her life. Street photography was one of her favorites. She was experiencing, while trying to keep up with the world of modern photography. Self-studying was her choice for getting more knowledge about professional photography, especially in cinema which later led her to become involved in cinema industry in Iran.
She was 27 when she started her job as a professional photographer in Tv productions; And she was 30 when she won her first award for her first experience in cinema, the
honoree diploma award for “best photography” in the 30th Fajr Film Festival.
Now she was a professional photographer in cinema but did not lose track of her personal projects. Since 2008, Arezoo Ettehad has participated in several photography collective exhibitions. She became a permanent member of Khaneh Cinema Annual Photo Exhibition in 2011.
Meanwhile, she chose one of her experimental photo projects, which she had started since 2001, as her main project. Horses, her favorite animal in childhood, were the subject. She felt so in love with this beautiful creature that she began learning horse-riding which gave her more knowledge about the different breeds of horses. So she began her own research on the encyclopedia of Iranian horse breeds, while cooperating with the Union of Iranian Horse Breeders.
Then it was the United Arab Emirates; Since 2013, Arezoo Ettehad has been cooperating with Emirates’ Tv, motion pictures and commericial companies as a photographer and illustrator.
